Indira adheres to the Kalakshetra style of Bharata Natyam in Kalabhumi where many students performed arangetrams in Bharata Natyam under Indira's guidance. Kalabhumi's Annual Dance Festival is a very popular event where hundreds of students participate to show their talents.

In choreography, Indira combines aesthetics with vibrant dance movements and space which are distinct in her solo performances. Her group choreography, specially for dance students, is simple and has artistic flavour which attracts both performers and viewers. She emphasizes on all-round excellence in her dance productions (check Kalabhumi for list of productions) with special reference to content, abhinaya and aesthetic movements.
