Menaka has attended famous Laban Centre of London to study classical ballet, jazz and contemporary dance and familiarize with the global dance scenario in London.

Besides exploring new territories of dance performance, she is actively associated with practical research, revival and performance of a 560-year-old living dance tradition called Sattriya dance of Assam. Along with her mother and traditional gurus she has been conducting pioneering research towards development and popularisation of Sattriya over the decades in India and abroad which has been officially recognized as a classical dance form.
